Home Birth
Experience the joy of giving birth in the intimate comfort of your own home while receiving the highest standard of care that midwifery can provide. You have the option of attending prenatal appointments at the office and birthing at home, or you can enhance your experience by selecting to have all services conducted in the comfort of your home.
Birth Center Birth
Experience the warm ambiance of a cozy bedroom instead of a clinical hospital room when you opt for one of the three luxurious birthing rooms at The Village Midwife Birth Center in Hampton, Virginia. The Cottage Room envelops you in a comforting embrace, reminiscent of a visit to grandma’s house. The Mermaid Room evokes the serene beauty of the ocean with its soothing blue walls and stunning skylight that floods the space with natural light. Lastly, The Boho Room blends minimalist and naturalistic elements, creating a tranquil environment filled with calming neutral tones.
Doula Support
Whether you desire birth support, childbirth education, or postpartum recovery assistance, our team of certified doulas is here to offer you personalized care, education, and support. As non-medical professionals, our doulas play an essential role in the community by providing a diverse array of services that beautifully compliment the medical care offered by your midwife or obstetrician.
Variations in Birth and Pregnancy
At Holistic Maternal Healthcare, our operations are guided by three foundational beliefs: the autonomy of the pregnant, birthing, and healing mother; the principle of informed consent in every decision made throughout the care process; and a steadfast belief in the Power of God to shape life within the womb, provide strength during labor, and offer comfort in healing.
We approach birth with profound respect, and with proper education, nutrition. Supported by trained providers, we assist with out-of-hospital twin, breech, and water births. These services are available only after thorough counseling and a detailed health assessment and cannot be guaranteed under any circumstances. Our providers firmly believe that the majority of women are suitable candidates for a safe out-of-hospital birth experience.
Placenta Encapsulation
Enhance your postpartum recovery with placenta encapsulation. Additionally, placenta art and cord keepsakes are also services available upon request. Please email holistichelpinghands24@gmail.com with any placenta related requests. Encapsulation $250, Placenta Print $25, Golden Cord Keepsake $25.
Childbirth Education Class
Childbirth education classes are taught by Alyssa Uhl who is a Certified Doula, Childbirth Educator, Certified Professional Midwife, Licensed Midwife and Mother of two children. Classes are taught in two settings: Group Classes ($100 per couple) or one-on-one private classes ($150 per couple) with both settings being a three hour course. This course is designed to equip the couple/individual with the knowledge and skills to navigate birth no matter the setting or medication preference. We discuss everything from development of the baby in the womb to recovery of the mother in postpartum.
